Why it happens

Stiff hips show up everywhere you move.

Hip and groin pain, that pinch deep in the joint, and stiffness that limits your squat or stride usually reflect how the hip moves and how well it tolerates load, not a single bad step.

For active adults and athletes, hip pain often builds from limited rotation, weak or under-prepared hip muscles, or training load that outpaced recovery. Left unaddressed, a stiff or irritated hip commonly passes the problem along to the low back or knee, so the ache can seem to move around.

Because we work out of network, we are not limited by insurance rules on time or technique. Every visit is 30–60 minutes, one-on-one, with the same provider, so we can restore mobility and control at the source with physical therapy and hands-on care, then load the hip so it holds up in running, squatting, and rotation.

Our process

How we get to the root cause of your hip pain.

Good treatment starts with an accurate diagnosis. Here is how we find the source, not just the sore spot.

Assess the hip and beyond

Your first visit is 30–60 minutes with one provider who takes your history and goals, then screens the hip, low back, and knee and watches how you squat, run, and rotate.

Diagnose the driver

We identify what is driving the pain, whether that is limited rotation, weak or under-prepared hip muscles, or a load pattern that irritates the joint, and explain it clearly.

Treat hands-on

In most cases we start care the same day, using manual therapy and dry needling to calm the irritated tissue and restore comfortable hip movement.

Load and progress

We restore mobility and rebuild strength and control with progressive loading so the hip tolerates running, squatting, and rotation without flaring.

FAQ

Q&A about hip pain

The hip sits between the low back and the knee, so when it is stiff or irritated it often passes load along to those areas. That is why the ache can seem to move around, and why our assessment looks at the whole region rather than the hip alone.

Catching or pinching in the hip can have several causes, and many respond well to restoring mobility and control. Only an assessment can tell, so we take a thorough history and run a hands-on and orthopedic exam. If your findings suggest imaging or a specialist is warranted, we will tell you plainly and help you take the next step.

Often, yes, with adjustments. We keep you active where it is safe and modify range or load where it is not, so you protect your training while the underlying cause resolves.

More than stretching. Because our clinicians work at the top of their scope, your care can combine manual therapy, dry needling, and progressive strength work to restore both mobility and control, matched to what your hip actually needs.

We are fee-for-service and out of network, with simple time-based pricing, and our clinical care is HSA/FSA-eligible so you can use pre-tax dollars. See pricing and membership for the full breakdown.
